Bedbugs are notorious pests, which seek human blood for the purpose of its feeding and breeding. They can survive without feeding for long periods and multiply much faster if factors favour the same. They are easily transported across huge distances by merely being carried on “someone’s shoulder”- tourists, train travel, staying in untreated accommodations etc. The bane of the hospitality industry, many methods are used to eradicate this pest. Usually it is necessary to expose the treated items to sunlight in conjunction with the traditional method of cleaning bed, mattresses and pillows by hitting them hard with a stick – in a way “Kicking” the bed bugs out. Chemical method involves use of odourless chemicals, usually repeated once in 15 days to get the best kill effect for heavy infestations.
